Jean Pierre Habimana joined Integral Global Consulting as a consultant to the CDC based in Kinshasa since October 2022. He is responsible for waterborne disease surveillance and works closely with the DRC Ministry of Health.
During his career as an international public health consultant since 2016, Habimana has worked with different organizations and institutions, providing technical assistance in various areas, such as technical support to Niger for the development of the Malaria Global Fund proposal for submission to NFM3, as WHO epidemiologist consultant assigned to the Tshopo province in the DRC for the response to the Ebola virus disease, as a consultant working with Africa Global Vision Consulting Services for Development SARL and Quality & Equity Healthcare on the project of elaboration of a strategy for the health care system extension and universal health care system set up in Togo.
Before starting his career as an independent consultant, Habimana worked for over 15 years in various public health institutions in Rwanda, from health center level to national level. He was a community case management specialist at the Malaria Division/Rwanda Biomedical Center and played an important role as a member of the national task force on community case management, strengthening community case management of diseases such such as malaria, diarrhea, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, malnutrition, etc.
He has contributed to the writing and publication of more than 5 articles on the control and elimination of malaria in Rwanda and is also a member of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene since 2015.
Habimana obtained a Master of Science degree in Epidemiology from the University of Rwanda in 2016.
